Margi Power

Before co-founding Leadership Council San Mateo County, Margi served as the Executive Director of Leadership San Mateo, Foster City, Burlingame, Hillsborough for four years, leveraging her experience as a 2005 program graduate, and her passion for leadership development.

Margi was elected to the Hillsborough City School Board for two terms, serving a total of nine years. Prior to that, Margi served as Co-President of the Hillsborough Schools Foundation and the National Charity League Crystal Springs Chapter, as well as on the Board of the San Mateo Public Library Foundation. She currently serves on the Board of Thrive Alliance.

Margi’s background is in education and career development software. After college, she taught in the charter corps of Teach For America, which sparked a lifelong passion for public education reform. She holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College and an M.A. in Educational Policy from Stanford University.

Margi enjoys the outdoors, travel, and spending time with her husband and two grown daughters.
