Impact Report 2025: Empowering Leaders. Advancing Organizations.

The Class of 2025 graduates of Leadership CORPS and Emerging Leaders at Graduation, June 2025.

Dear Leadership Council SMC Community,

We are proud to share our Impact Report 2025, which highlights how our programs are enabling leaders across San Mateo County to deepen their civic knowledge, strengthen their businesses and community organizations, and contribute to the well-being of our County.

This year’s impact stories showcase the many ways leaders in organizations engage with Leadership Council SMC to advance their missions. You’ll hear from our partners at Genentech, Franklin Templeton, and Cypress Lawn, whose leaders affirm that developing informed, connected employees benefits both their organizations and the communities they serve. Their stories highlight the growing recognition that leadership development is a business investment—and a community asset.

The report features powerful examples of impact:

  • Expanded access to leadership development through LEAD Local and LEAD 2025, designed for leaders at every level.
  • A Community Acceleration Project that advanced health outcomes and strengthened a local nonprofit.
  • Alumni who turned learning into action, investing in their growth and stepping into service roles across the County.

Together, these stories, and our accomplishments of 2024-2025 illustrate how our growing network is building strong, purpose-driven leadership that benefits all of San Mateo County.

We invite you to explore the full report, celebrate the Class of 2025, and join us in continuing to elevate and empower leaders across San Mateo County.

Leading together,
Kaarin Hardy & Margi Power
Co-Presidents, Leadership Council SMC
